  • Most investigators in academia have not been trained to write clearly and cohesively, which often makes grants and manuscripts fail. For technical or complex information to be understood by any audience, clarity of message is paramount.

Remember, individuals who rise to leadership positions in organizations generally do so partly because they can express ideas orally and in writing in persuasive, concise ways. Stated another way, it's hard to get a group of people excited about an idea, a new product or a research objective, if they cannot be communicated in a convincing, compelling way.

Writing clearly is a learned skill, and in this information-packed Webinar, Dr. Christopher Dant will examine the most common problems in scientific writing, such as how to persuade with a minimum amount of words, how and where to use the "right" words, and how to write sentences and paragraphs with purpose, clarity, and punch. Dr. Dant will share examples of poor writing, and offer actionable advice on how scientists can improve their writing immediately.
